Why Make Printables?

There are so many uses for printables. You can make them for your home schedule, planners to keep track of the kids or special events, health and fitness tracking, home decor, and so much more.

You may be interested in more of a DIY project or you might need to make printables for your blog as an opt-in.

Most likely, you have purchased a few printables in the past and they just didn't fit your style or purpose. How much money have you spent on printables that are just hanging out in a file on your device?

Learning to make your own printables means you have control over the design.

You can make it your own color combination.

You can make the boxes as small or large as you need.

You can add in extra time slots, change the font, or make it 3 pages instead of 1.

You can make it your own!!

Why Choose Illustrator?

Adobe Illustrator is one of the best ways to design printables (or any other graphics for that matter). It is a robust platform.

Once you learn the basic tools you can use it for all your graphic projects including SVGs, card making, scrapbooking, digital elements, blog graphics, Pinterest graphics, and more.

There are similar free versions of Illustrator online. The tools will be identical (maybe in different areas of the workspace) and they will do similar things.

I pay for Illustrator because it meets all my needs, is updated regularly, has great support, and I know I can use it for commercial purposes.

You can follow this course using one of the free versions or you can use a trial of Adobe Illustrator and decide which one you like best. The basics of this course will work for you either way.
Welcome to Making Printables with Illustrator!

Are you excited?

I'm thrilled to have you here. It's time to learn some new things. Find those golden learning nuggets. Practice what you learn and then start creating printables of your own!

There are a few things that I want you to keep in mind.

  1. You will be learning something new (which is why you are looking for help making printables?). Learning new things can sometimes be frustrating. That's part of the learning process. You are pushing yourself beyond your current comfort level. Take a deep breath and then keep learning and pushing. It's worth it. I promise.
  2. You can binge-read and learn this information. But when you go to apply it, the process may feel clunky. You need to practice as you learn and then practice some more after you have finished the reading through the guidebook. It's like any new thing you learn: riding a bike, shooting a basket, building something with wood. The first attempts will feel awkward and you will want instant professional results. That's not the way it works when you are learning something new. You need to keep trying. Keep designing. The process will get easier and you will be designing stunning printables in no time.

Print the whole book out and keep it by your computer for easy access. Use it as your guide for all those beautiful printables that you have been wanting to create but were too scared to start.

You are easily going to create loads of printables (and possibly some extra cash), now that you have all the answers!

You can also access it on your tablet or phone. Does it get any better?!
